A Closer Look at Ampere
Ampere is a data aggregation company that matches manufacturers to equipment upgrade and rebate opportunities. While the organization had found a compelling way to produce added value for its clients, the process of doing so took considerable time and effort. The small team was only able to handle a few clients at a time without overwhelm. Additionally, the reliance on high-touch services and manual data gathering prevented the organization from achieving the meteoric growth indicative of a successful startup. Seeking to go from service to SaaS, Ampere employed Autonomi to build out a custom Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for both production use and investor demonstration.
Autonomi’s Solution: AI-Powered Ingestion and Database Aggregation
The first stage of the build involved leveraging Doxci, Autonomi’s own data preprocessor, to extract and structure utility bill data received from spreadsheets, PDFs, and other media. This data is then used to populate a dashboard where customers can upload information about their industrial equipment. After upload, the incentivization system uses an AI-based matching algorithm to find rebates and update opportunities that drive significant, measurable reductions in spend and boosts in profit for the customer.

With the e-commerce site modernized, the Autonomi team shifted to tackle inventory management. A new, custom-built application was developed that easily tracked the important information for every repair component, such as supplier, history, location, time on hand, and more. This application also provided data-driven insights, allowing the business to identify an opportunity to accelerate revenue by focusing on working with a specific supplier.
While this was a tried and true strategy that had been employed by Ampere before Autonomi’s engagement, Autonomi allowed the organization to automate the majority of the work associated with fulfillment. This allowed Ampere to move from a high-touch, hard-to-scale consulting model, to the rapid growth SaaS model every investor likes to see.
Results: From 0-$900k in 90 days
When it comes to raising money, the difference between presenting a plan and presenting a working, revenue-generating product is night and day. With their new MVP in their arsenal, Ampere was able to dominate their investor meetings. Boasting provable customer ROI, large profit margins, the ability to rapidly scale, and perfect product-market fit, Ampere was able to close its seed round in less than 90 days. They have since been taking the market by storm, and achieving double-digit growth month-over-month since.
